Lady of My Heart
|
Monday, August 21, 2006
Dad woke me up today and said "Girl, Happy Birthday" Isn't that sweet.
Yup! It's my BIRTHDAY TODAY! And nothing can spoil my day, even when somebody is late. I put on a new pretty korean design blouse and discard my glasses and start of the day happily a year older :) Had Blueberry Post Breakfast Cereals with Cold Fresh Milk. Yummy! What a day to start off.
RING! "Happy Birthday Sweet Heart" Hmm.. shall I stay angry abit longer?
Bus arried on time and I'm off to work on time. So far so good. Bought breakfast for colleagues and be right at my desk at 9am.
My good pals at work came up to me to wish me Happy Birthday. That is sweet :) This year, I got a wallet from Aunty Chua and Gucci Perfume from my good pals them. I was speechless. I never expect an expensive gift from them. I was like. Guys.. you really shouldn't. This it too much. What's a birthday without birthday card right? It's really lovely to see pen written wishes. I pinned them on the wall together with last year's card.
Colleagues who never seen me without glasses, stopped and say "There's something different about you, but I just don't know what it is". I chuckled. I'm without specs today lah. "What's the special occassion?" "Well.. It's my birthday!" "Oh! Happy Birthday!" (
oh well.. they din add on to compliment that I look better without specs. anyway, I'm the Miss Poh type not Miss MOF)
RING! "Hello" "This is Mr So..and So.. security guard from the 1st level. There's flowers for you to receive" "Oh! Thank You"
Some days ago, I sent an email to my dear titled
www.floraeast.com It must be him :) I went downstairs gleemingly.

"Hmm.. a delivery from Noel? Wow... he took the initiative.. but WAIT! It's not from him. It's from Miss Tan!! What a lovely surprised!" Thank you Miss Tan. The Three Little Pigs are very cute together with the lovely roses.
At lunchtime, I rushed down to Raffles Place to pick up two Awfully Chocolate Banana cakes. They are as a treat from me for my colleagues. Next stop, City Hall to meet up with my lunch kakis for some Ben & Jerry Ice-Cream treat. Opted for the Singapore Birthday Special (6 Scoops!) Had a chance to taste almost all the great flavours. It's FANTASTIC! One thing about Ben & Jerry, it's real costly to have it as 1 scoop. Many scoops is more economical. Must chio friends to eat. Yummy! Well.. that's lunch for me too!
5:15pm - My close friends and colleagues celebrated birthday for me in the office's pantry. We had Birthday Cake, sing Birthday song and took pictures :) My receptionist colleague came running around the office looking for me. "Valencia, there's flowers for you downstairs" Huh? More flowers? Gosh! Never received so many flowers in my life.
Rushed down to the lobby. A bouquet is waiting
for me. What lovely flowers. It's from my dear! Thank You Dear! I love it very much! The flowers smell so sweet! When I'm back in office, everyone is admiring the flowers.
And later I found out that this bouquet is called Lady of My Heart. The flowers represents "Each time you're with her, your heart is inundated with warm fuzzy feelings. You wish that time will slow down so that you can be by her side longer. These 12 flaming red roses, interspersed with vanilla white & sweet pink eustomas, will commune your loving desire to the lady of your heart. With such fond emblems of devotion, she'll want to spend even more memorable moments with you!" http://www.fareastflora.com/detail.aspx?TYP=FLG&PCAT=FLG-HBQ&PCD=PM19 ps: prior to this my dear gave me a Baby G watch which I had lost.
6:30pm - No OT for me today. Going for dinner at No Signboard at the Esplanade with my dear. Our main aim is to have Crabbies!
7:00pm - It's monday, didn't expect much crowd. But we were wrong. The place is fully packed. Luckily we made our reservations. There were so many other ala-carte items to choose from. Finally, my dear settled for a $118 set dinner, where there's lobster salad / shark's fin soup / chili crab / vegetables / dessert.
9:00pm - What a satisfied meal. Thank you dear :) After the sumptuous meal, we took a stroll down the Esplanade. The weather is great. It's a nice, long and slow stroll. Somehow the time seems to stop around us. And we are enjoying each other's warmth & company. How I wish the long will just freeze at that moment forever..
10:00pm - We boarded a bus home. And I just sleep in his arms like a baby till my journey home.

The Fast And The Furious Saturday
|
Saturday, August 19, 2006

Meet up at Guan Yin Temple to pai pai. Lots of street performers. Some are pretty interesting. Many uncles and aunties are there singing their favourite songs when they are young. The KTV don't have their selection so they are out singing. Hmm.. I wonder when we grow old, will there be time where KTV will not have our Jacky Cheung or Leon Lai or Aaron Kwok or Andy Lau songs and we can get to sing them with our own VCD playing aloud on the amplifier? Perhaps you will see us at around Guan Yin Temple there singing the 80s songs. Hehe.. who knows :)
While waiting for dear, I stood next to the ice-cream stall in front of the temple, watching the world goes by around me. Life is really fast and furious. I see people rushing in and out of the temple. Wouldn't be in a spiritual place, you know down your pace to be in touch with the GODs? I see people hurriedly picking up joss sticks, bowing quickly. And one even stopped to pick up a call on his mobile phone. Is life really so furious that you can't miss the call just to spend time with your inner spiritual self with GODs? Perhaps this is a call of life and death. But we were once in a life without mobile calls, life goes on isn't it?
My dear came, and we both went into the temple. I tried to take my time to pick up joss sticks and lit it up. But everyone around me was rushing and rushing that I get jostled around. Gosh! If I don't act fast, I would have been trampled upon and will never get my joss stick lit up. Ok, not that I rush for my joss stick lit up on the oil lamp, I just waited patiently and find the oppotunity to slot in to have it quickly lit. Next, I need to find a space to pay my respects and pray. At the same time trying to steady myself on my feet from the jostling crowd. Somehow, I feel myself rushing through my prayers because of my surroundings. It's like a peer pressure, other people are in the rush and you just have to keep moving on so that others can get in quickly and pray too.. I admit, I rushed through my prayers too. And I'm sorry that I was kind of distracted by my surroundings. I hope to be better the next time.
Afterwhich, we hang around bugis, then slowly walk our way to The Cathay to collect tickets for the movie Tokyo drift. Hmm.. perhaps it's my birthday luck, won a $25 Adidas voucher. Next stop to Plaza Sing for dinner. Had craving for Korean Ramen. However, it turned out that the one at Plaza Sing foodcourt can't match with the one at Funan foodcourt. Well.. can't waste food right?
Next we take our time back to The Cathay. You must try their smoothie. It's delicious and real fruit taste. We had Cranberry. (It's pronouced as Cran-burry ok?) Yummy.
The movie is good and cool, see how the drivers drift. I feel it's much better than the Jay Chou's Initial D. Been to Tokyo myself, the scenes just bring back memories. One thing about Japan is though their life is also fast and furious, but they are very orderly. Singapore has lots to learn and grow.

Had a Bad Day.
|
Tuesday, August 01, 2006
Sigh.. Why am I ultra sensitive to everything? I thought I've gotten over it.
Probably I'm just having a bad day. I just try to blame everything on PMS.
Just want to be sad for the day and drown my sorrows and rather stand up on my feet to face it.
Sorry Dear. Thanks for tolerating. I know you have been patient.
